What to expect from Memorial Day PS5 deals in 2024
Although the biggest savings on gaming hardware and PS5 bundles tend to come during either Prime Day or Black Friday, there are going to be plenty of ways to save your money on gaming gear this Memorial Day. The PS5 itself could see some bundle offerings hanging around - including the Spider-Man bundle at Best Buy. We could even see the return of the $399 digital-only bundle, which would be a really tempting prospect for those who aren't that keen on the fully-priced machine.
Perhaps the biggest savings could come on PS5 games. Usually, for Memorial Day, we see games from the previous November reach some super reasonable prices - so all eyes are on the likes of Spider-Man 2 this year. With New Game Plus now out, it'd be a great time for a discount on it. We could also see Baldur's Gate 3 discounted since it's still super popular. Games that launched early in 2024 could also see their first discounts. Tekken 8 and Dragon's Dogma 2 are in prime position for some deals, and with Helldivers 2 looking to keep up its momentum, some discounts on it could be massive. May we even see some sort of Helldivers 2 bundle for the PS5? All remains to be seen.
Then we come to accessories. SSDs will be really worth keeping an eye on this Memorial Day since their prices have been pretty high so far this year. If you can pick up a 1TB drive for under $70, you're getting a good deal just now, so look to our best SSDs for PS5 guide to know what to look for. Similarly, external hard drives tend to be a staple of any online sale. The best PS5 controllers may see some discounts too, which is always welcome since they're not the cheapest gamepads out there. A price cut to the Victrix Pro BFG would be huge for any FPS player, and a first price cut to the DualSense Edge has been long overdue.
Lastly, with PSVR 2's PC support looming, it might be a wonderful time for Sony to finally drop a new bundle for it, or give it some price cuts. That would be worth preparing for.
FAQ
Which retailers will be best for Memorial Day PS5 deals?
Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart are all strong bets for the best Memorial Day PS5 deals. Amazon often offers the lowest-ever prices we see on consoles and software, thanks to its subsidiary, Woot. These are extremely limited, though!
Walmart has been surprisingly great for bundles too, being one of the first to reduce the God of War Ragnarok price by $50. Both the retailer and Best Buy host regular daily deals and clearance sales, so always worth keeping an eye out there for a bargain or two. For cheap digital games, CDKeys is your best port of call. PS5 games are often found at half-price there, sometimes better. Last year, here's what we saw, and where.
Amazon: cheap PS5 games, SSDs, and more
Best Buy: daily PS5 bundle deals and clearance sales
CDKeys: up to 66% off digital games – including God of War
GameStop: PS5 stock readily available
When will Memorial Day PS5 deals start?

Ever since playing Journey at the age of 15, I’ve been desperate to cover video games for a living. After graduating from Edinburgh Napier University with a degree in Journalism, I contributed to the Scottish Games Network and completed an Editorial Internship over at Expert Reviews. Besides that, I’ve been managing my own YouTube channel and Podcast for the last 7 years. It’s been a long road, but all that experience somehow landed me a dream job covering gaming hardware. I’m a self-confessing PlayStation fanboy, but my experience covering the larger business and developer side of the whole industry has given me a strong knowledge of all platforms. When I’m not testing out every peripheral I can get my hands on, I’m probably either playing tennis or dissecting game design for an upcoming video essay. Now, I better stop myself here before I get talking about my favourite games like HUNT: Showdown, Dishonored, and Towerfall Ascension. Location: UK Remote
